replacement P-neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm replacing a Squier P-bass neck and I was wondering how these three necks would compare as far as quality:
Squier P neck (used)
MIM P neck (used)
Mighty Mite (new)

I'm assuming the MIM would be better than the Squier, but how does the Mighty Mite compare?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum

First thing I'd wonder is why the used necks are being removed. My understanding is the Mighty Mite necks are identical to the MIM fender necks. The Mighty Mite will have brand spankin new frets, and no exposed holes drilled for tuners if you use single-screw-mount pegs. I just put one on my PJ and it's a fine neck, no issues.

dont know about the mighty mite
but if the MIM neck is more expensive and the squier is a VM then squier
if the squier is an affinity or standard then go with MIM or save money for a MIA, those necks are really but really nice

I changed the neck on my parts P-Bass because I wanted one that was 1 3/4" at the nut rather than 1 5/8." Just because somebody changes a neck doesn't mean there's anything structurally wrong with it. I replaced it with a $20 used neck off the bay and have NEVER had to adjust the truss rod in more than 5 years. Of course I got lucky...I fell in and came out smelling like a rose.
