Anybody know where I might locate a replacement roller / threaded pin assembly for a Schaller bass bridge? I purchased one rather inexpensively only to find the D string roller was warped / cross-threaded to the point it sits ~30 degrees off-center. I hate to send it back for lack of finding an easy-to-exchange component. I've e-mailed Schaller, StewMac, and AllParts but have yet to receive any responses. I'm hoping somebody can provide the inside track on where I might snag the aforementioned part.
Thanks

BUT, ol Hammy's gonna reach into his dime bag of fixits and see what he can find...
Got it! How about adapting a string ball to replace the bad roller? They are of similar size and all you would have to do is either slip it over the stud or tap it for threading onto the stud. If you've got a pile of old strings like I do, you should be able to find one of the chrome plated ones to get it to match with what's there already. |

This is why I like dealing with Hipshot. They'll send you saddles, spacers, inserts, etc. without batting an eye.

I still want a roller for the damn thing. Schaller must have a US rep / distributor somewhere.

I needed the screw that goes into the back of the bridge and into the saddle, and they sent me the roller assembly. I actually think they sent me several of them. PM me and I'll send you one. It's black. I love the bridge, and would be glad to help someone get theirs up and running. Now I'm off to my parts bin to look. |

Chris mailed me a handful of Schaller hardware from his junk drawer. Fits perfectly so we're up and running.
FWIW, AllParts, StewMac, and Schaller couldn't even pull this one off!
Thanks

Instead of making a new thread, I'll just ask this here. I need a screw/spring and a height adjust assembly for a D/G side saddle. I'm going to email Schaller in the morning, but if anyone has any spare parts, I'll buy them up. |

I think I mailed everything I had to Zoober, seeing as how the two basses I had with a Schaller are no longer in my stable. I don't think I had any height adjustment screws, but I know there were some screw/spring pieces. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
