Replacing bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
My question is very simple(maybe to noob): Could I put this bridge

on a Ibanez K5. Becouse it's very annoying to find this tapperwound 5th string all the time.

Thanks

The short answer is yes.

Bad Ass Bridges are designed to be easily mounted on Fender and Fender clone basses. This bridge is not a direct replacement for an Ibanez bridge. Careful measurements will have to be made. New mounting holes will have to be bored.

the other short answer is "well, maybe, but"

the ibanez has way narrower string spacing than the leo quan, which is pretty much wide fender spacing with another string added to it. you might be able to locate the strings close enough together, but you might not.

Good point. While the saddles can be slotted to move the strings into position, it might put some lateral force on the sides of the strings. That could cause some premature string wear.

I think you'll have a better experience with one of the other brands bridges with adjustable string spaceing. This will let you get better fit for your Ibanez imo.
