Question Replacing Headthing on Hohner b2a

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi people

I recently got a very old hohner b2a from a friend of mine and would like to replace the piece, where the head would normally be with one like the warwick headlesses have. Cause: I would like to defret it and i can't find double ball end flatwound strings. what do you guys think?

open to any ideas

GHS makes pressure-wounds, which might be easy on the fingerboard. & LaBella makes flats in 2 weights. www.juststrings.com

I'd check how vintage that bass is before I start pulling frets & changing headthings.

If the bass ever was vintage, it lost almost all of it's worth... the former owner did replace the pickups, and drilled two little holes into the body, because he was a lefty . other than that, the xlr out isn't there anymore. thanks for the link though

Try ebay UK - there's a few double-ended ball there.
