Replacing Ibanez MONO RAIL saddles for a single BRIDGE
I did a search for this and didn't really find anything, so I hope I am not asking something that's been asked a million times before.
Anyway, I have an Ibanez Prestige MIJ bass that I absolutely love. It is as boutique as any bass I've owned costing three times the amount.
The "problem" is that it has the mono rail single saddles for each string and it's the old design that requires you to loosen the string all the way and move it aside just to raise or lower the action. It ends up being a hit or miss situation.
Ultimately, I'd like to replace the 4 mono rails for a Schaller (for example) bridge. I know there would be four cavities to overcome, but has anyone done this, or recommend doing it, or just leave it well enough alone ? I also ordered a newer version of the saddles that have the phillips head adjustment in the back. I haven't received them in the mail yet, but I don't even know if they'll fit.
