Replacing side dot markers???

Sign in to disble this ad
This is random question.....is there any way to replace side dot markers?!?! I am fairly new to fretless bass and I have a Pedulla Rapture J 2. The dot markers on the side of the neck are unusually dark colored....when I'm in a live situation, I can barely see them due to the way the lighting reflects off of them. It really throws me off as I'm still working on getting a more natural feel for the fretless and the dot markers really help me with intonation. I've considered just dabbing them with white-out to make them easier to see, but I was wondering if there are any permanent and inexpensive solutions??

Thanks

lamonica78, I had the same problem. What I did was punched out circles large enough to cover the black dots out of white label paper. I used the thickest I could find, but had to use a razor knife and lots of patience to get the backing off those little punch outs!. I covered the dots with the white ones I cut out, and put a dab of pearl then clear nail polish over each one. I let the pearl dry for a day before I put the clear on. It has been almost a year now and they are all still good.

Hmmm, interesting solution. I might have to try that out! Sounds fairly simple aside from the patience thing (which I have very little, haha)

idk, it depends on how much you value your bass as far as cosmetics go. you could try making a little hole with a small nail (make sure it's rounded) and filling it in with something. just throwing something out there

I use letraset rubons, they dont last forever but they are easy to apply and not expensive (to be found on ebay).
