Replacing tuners on Fender P Jr.

Sign in to disble this ad
I finally found a Mexican Fender P bass Junior and it's great. The story is it was bought by the original owner then they sold it to Guitar Center, the rep bought it before it hit the floor and he kept it stored for 4 years. So then that's where I come in, it's practically brand new, still has the product description sticker and pick guard plastic cover.

My only rife with it are the tuners, they're uber cheap. Will a big boy Fender P bass set of tuners fit? What are my options?

I'm stoked, thanks!

I have a modded jr and one I just sold earlier this week. I added active pickups to help make up for the lack of a tone knob. What a pain. I had to move the jack and route out space for the battery. But it sounds so good know I can actually play it live.

Anyways, I still have the original tuners. And while they are cheap, they work fine. But if your set on replacing them I would look at tuners from a Pbass lyte or other fender bass with a smaller headstock. I can't imagine the tuners from my musicmaster fitting on my jr. I really just don't think there's enough space.
