A Review: New Fender Bass Setup, Repair Handbook

Not sure this should be here or somewhere else, so mods, feel free to move.

The Fender Bass Handbook: How to Buy, Maintain, Set Up, Troubleshoot, and Modify Your Bass [Hardcover]

Link: http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Bass-Ha...Y6JQDCKRBACDX2

Saw this book reviewed in Bass Player magazine and just received it from Amazon. The book is hardcover and actually published by a company in the UK which publishes auto repair books, like Chilton's here in the states.

I like this book. All color photos, clear writing and very recent. The book uses a "case study" approach and is so recent it even includes the Squier VM Fretless and CV 51 Precision as case studies.

Also included are sections about the development of Fender basses and notable Fender bass players. However, it is not a comprehensive history of Fender bass book. If you are looking for a Fender bass history book, there are better choices.

For a person who is coming up the learning curve on repairing my Fender basses, I find this book helpful and enjoyable. Be aware, this book discusses Fender basses only and is written in the Queen's English, so, be prepared for an English lesson also!

Recommended!

Although I don't need another setup book, I'm very interested. Looks like a fun read for less than $20.
