Rickenbacker 4001 Bridge Adjustment

Sign in to disble this ad
The father of one of my good friends (he's a drummer, his dad's a guitarist) collects guitars and one of the basses he owns is a 1979 Rickenbacker 4001. He's nice enough to let me use it for practice or recording while at the house.

It sounds great, but it has a weird tone due to the action being so low, and it buzzes on the upper frets. I asked him about adjusting the bridge and he was unsure how, as it's a bit confusing.

Anyone know how to raise the saddles on vintage Ric bridges. I tried using allen wrenches of all sizes to adjust the screw that I poorly circled in red.

yep, that's the one.

If that pic is of the actual bass you're playing, I'd suggest you have the owner make the adjustment.
