Rickenbacker 4001 Set up?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey bros. Did a search, not much came up. I just landed a 4001 84' And the actions a tad bit to high for my taste. The neck is straight with tuned strings. Nothing notacablely wrong. I understand rics are different then other basses action wise.

So whats the safest way to lower action a bit without getting fretbuzz?

Thanks!

Are you sure its an '84? Every record I've ever seen shows the 4001 was discontinued in '83.

Have you adjusted the bridge?

+1 to wot he said.

Joey's bass notes have good tips on Ric setup.

yep, check joey's. that site got me over my fear of screwing around with that goofy bridge and the dual truss rods.
