RICKENBACKER 4003 w/ crack in neck-body-joint - might this be a problem?

got this bass off of ebay about a month ago. discovered that there is a hairline crack running about a third of an inch deep into the joint from both sides (you can slide a piece of paper into it) -- see pics please.

what do you guys think? am i dealing with a serious problem here? btw, at the moment the crack seems to be stable.

I would get a repairer to seal it with some glue.
That would hopefully stop it spreading further.
