Rickenbacker as a Slap/Pull bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was looking for feedback on anyone that's set up their Rick as a Slap/Pull style funk bass and how it worked out, or anyone with suggestions on the subject. I'm thinking about doing mine that way since I'm using my others for other styles and the Rick is just sitting in the case looking forlorn...

Action height, string guage, etc, are all welcome inputs.

I slapped on the 4003 I used to own. It sounded pretty damn good. Believe it or not, I only used the bridge pickup when I slapped. I know it sounds weird, but if I had the neck pickup on, the slap tone was awful.

I had the tone knob on the bridge pup dialed in about midway.
