rid me of this buzzing fret!

Sign in to disble this ad
this has been bothering me since nearly day one when i bought the bass; the 2nd fret on the d string buzzes, so much so that i have to hold the bass at an angle to get an audible note out of it! i took the bass in to have to strings raised etc and that helped for a while, but the buzz is back and i want a permanent solution!

It could be the fret itself or perhaps you need to adjust the truss rod, my guess is the fret. Also, wrong forum. Set up forum is the place for this.

Your nut's too low on that string so raising strings at the bridge won't really help. That or you've got sympathetic truss rattle but check the string height at the nut first, could be the issue.
