Ritter/ Gotoh tuner head

Sign in to disble this ad
I just picked a Ritter with an unusual Gotoh tuner. I know about the familiar heart shaped knobs, but the actual tuner has an opening on the back. Do I need to oil these? I know the GB7 tuners are sealed, unlike these.

The post are different from the standard gotohs.

Needs oil?

Here you go. The finish is called Piano Black. I really had a hard time getting the pics to show the true quality and richness that it has when seeing it in person.

Jen's Response

Here's some info on the tuners on my Roya. Pretty cool

These are very super rare HAP Tuners from Gotoh they were made only for a short time. You can move the high of the shaft! very cool to change the string preasure onto the nut. They gave me a few to check out. But they were to expensive to produce anymore so tjhey stopped it. Too Bad! these really have been some of the finest tuners ever.
on your bass I cheched them out by accident you got it. Very cool! :-) These are very special and not available any more!
