Roscoe Resurection Project

Long intro story...
I couple of days back I was surfing Evilbay and saw someone selling a pair of Barts out of a Roscoe.. in the description they said they came from a badly damaged instrument. The pups were for sale and the rest was to bad for them to bother with so the remains were for sale too.

I am not a woodworker at all but I like to tinker with things so I thought that if it was at all salvagable I would work on it over the winter and see what I could do. I've played a Roscoe at a local guitar store so I know they are wonderful instruments but I don't know if i'll make friends with 6 strings easily. Worth a try tho.

Got a bunch of pics and negotiated a price. On a whim I sent Mr. Roscoe an email to get his thoughts on the possibility of resurrection.

Keith and Gard looked at the pics and said it could be done with the right tools, a bit of patience, and knowledge that it would never be showroom new again. He volunteered to have the seller ship it directly to him for complete evaluation and quote for what it would take for him to do the work AND, if I still wanted to do it meself, instructions on what to do to get it playable.

With the support of the OB (original builder) I made the purchase and the bass is on its way to North Carolina. I'll document the repairs in this thread if its ok.

Keith Roscoe to the rescue.
The quote for complete structural (but not cosmetic) repair + 2 new pickups + shipping to me is less than i was expecting. I think i'm going to go for it...
