Other than the cosmetics i can't tell the diff between new.
its set with a low/medium action and has just a touch of neck relief. I may raise it a bit and reset the intonation just cause it's my preference.
Acoustically it sings with no dead spots.. just what i would expect.
Have not plugged it in yet.

Holy smokes! Looks like that thing took a really bad fall or someone got pissed and flung it out onto the highway! Even the in 'fixed' photos, that thing is not pretty! Wow!

Not cosmetically perfect was my goal. If I wanted to pay for as new i would just have bought a new one. Anybody else out there got a sub $1k SKB 3006?

My feelings exactly. Ive had beaters most of my life. If it functions/feels right that's an awesome beater.

Glad it's back in action.

I'm thinking of the lyrics to a John Hiatt song:
"I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar..."

WOW! Did a train hit that thing! Great job rescuing that thing! I've got a rescue project of my own I'm starting. A Spector Euro4 that was badly refinished right down to bondo on the top.

That is an awesome bass you have! Enjoy it!

Wow, no kidding! That poor bass was demolished! Nice job.

Did the seller ever tell you what actually happened to it?

Owner > trashed bass > sold to a music shop > music shop sold the pickups on ebay > music shop sold the remains to me > Roscoe Guitars did the repairs and put in new pickups

Well done. If that bass could talk, it would have been screaming when you received it. Better now.

There's an ugly story behind that - you should probably be glad you don't know it.
