hey guys... can the springs on the saddle of your bass affect the sound coz mine are pretty freakin rusty + does shifting the saddle inward or outward have any effect?

Yes:intonation.

Wait... what actually do you mean by "inward or outward"? Do you mean shifting a saddle from side to side, or do you mean moving it towards or away from the neck?

Side to side will have basically no effect, but towards or away from the neck is how you set intonation.

Rusty springs... no effect whatsoever.

Setting Bass Intonation check this site ...i had no idea about intonation ...didn't think that pickup height mattered too my bass was very f-ed up dude good thing i did some work on it it improved the sound 200%
