Saddles all over the place!

I just intonated my new (used)Atelier Z 5.
On all my other basses the pattern of the saddles is similar. The G string furthest forward and the rest of the saddles gradually further back all within about 1".
On the Atelier Z the G is pretty far forward, the D more forward, the A quite a bit back and the E and B way back.
What causes the adjustment to come out so irregular on a high end bass?

Interesting.I Left the strings that the bass came with on for now because they still seemed to have some life left in them.I'll put new ones on and see if that makes a difference.

Different string construction affects intonation. In general, as long as the bass will intonate, the pattern of the saddles means nothing and says nothing, as long as they are where they need to be to play in tune, and you have enough saddle travel to work with.
