Saddles up all the way

I just got a Skyline Lakland and the action is pretty much dead on and on the low side but the saddles are raised WAY up high to get it there. It seemed weird and I checked to see if there was some shim or not and there isn't. If I am getting decent action should I even care? It just seems weird.

If the action is where you like it, don't worry. The fact that the saddles are quite high can be seen as an advantage on two fronts:

1. Less protrusion of the saddles screws to catch your hand when palm muting at the bridge

2. Improved break angle over the saddles

Better the way you have it than bottomed out.

No, it's not that I ran out of screw. There is enough there. The saddles just sit really high.

Nope. Full pocket anti-shims, flatwounds, and I don't know what the *&%$ I'm talking about.

Enjoy the Lakie and everybody have a great Super Bowl weekend!
