Sadowsky owners - which model Hipshot tuners?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Sadowsky Metro RV-4. It's an older one and has "Sadowsky" tuners on it. I am debating switching out to Ultralite's as these seem a little heavy. Anyone know what model Hipshot I would use/Roger uses on the newer Metros?

I have emails in to Hipshot and Sadowsky on this, but thought I'd toss it out here, too.

I don't think he uses Ultralites standard, but you'll most likely need the 1/2" tuners with the 11/16" diameter. (you can just measure your current diameter size, but aside from the Ibanez I used to own, I've never found another bass that uses the 9/16" diameter).

The cheapest Ultralites that I've found are at Best Bass Gear, and they're $22 each

Here's what Bill at Hipshot had to say:

Roger uses our HB1 (Stamped Sadowsky) tuners on his 4-strings and our HB6C-3/8" Ultralites on his 5-strings. On some of his current 4-strings he uses a "Sadowsky/Gotoh" tuner.

I guess I'll just leave it the way it is. It has a certain mojo and I don't want to ruin it.
