Schaller 3D-4 bridge Shims.

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Fender Jazz bass with a Schaller 3D-4 bridge installed.
The previous owner has installed that bridge and while i have nothing to complain about the quality, I found strings too high for my liking so I removed the Shim underneath it.
At first the bridge was waay too low, but i adjusted the screws to raise the strings to their max and it played pretty well.
But lately I get annoyed a bit by the fretbuzz and would like to raise the string a bit more, but when I install the shim the strings would be too high again....

Does anyone know if there are thinner shims around I could install instead of the 1 I got with bass?

Seems like Schaller only sells 1 size shims:

Stock they come with 3mm, you can also buy 4mm from them.

I say take a block sander and sand it down yourself and then repaint it.
