Schaller strap locks vs Schaller - style strap locks

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone have any experience with the cheaper, shaller - style strap locks versus the authentic schallers? I need to get a couple sets of strap locks so I'm wondering if the cheaper ones will work or if I should just put in the extra money and get the real things. I will probably use the screws that are on the basses rather than the ones that come with the locks. The ones I'm talking about are like these:

Or would you guys recommend something completely different for the money? I need to be able to take the straps on and off easily so the washer trick isn't the best option for me. Thanks for any input you can give.

the schaller-"style" versions are a little cheaper, but oddly enough they have a better design! see the second nut on the lock body? that serves to lock down the first nut, which always gets loose and falls off on the schaller version unless you use a dab of loc-tite.
