How do i eliminate static / scratchy sound in my pots?

Buy some lubricating cleaner at Radio Shack or an electronics supply store. Make sure it has a lubricant...if you just buy "contact cleaner" it will not work for long and the pots could freeze up.

I personally use (TV) Tuner Cleaner (in the dark ages of electronics, televisions had mechanical tuners).

You spray it in the opening of the pot's rear cover just above the terminals. Then rotate the shaft back and forth a bunch of times, then do it again.
