Screw accessories

Ok, so on my Ibanez BTB405QM, there is a panel on the back that is similar to my the regular control panel, it's for the 9volts it takes for the active EQ. The screws that hold in the panel don't screw into the wood, they screw into a bushing or some metal fastener (I can't think of the technical term), but it's pretty much the same idea as how tune-o-matics are installed, the giant "screws" are screwed into the "bushings" that are just pushed into the body, so the "screws" can be moved up and down, taken out, put in, etc... as much as possible without the worry of stripping the screw or wood.

The screws for this 9volt panel are similar in size to regular pickguard screws.
So here's my question, where could I find similar bushings for that small of a size of screws?

Me too. Check out a good hobby shop. They have all kinds of stuff like that.

Ya, good luck finding that. Ibanez has horrid CS so don't look to them for any help. You can try, but in my dealings with them, they haven't been any help at all. Not that I'm recommending it, but I'd just fill in the hole and re-drill and put the screw into the wood.

That's a swell idea, I'll be sure to post back if that doesn't help.
Thanks.

No kidding about the customer service! The stack knobs for Mid Freq. and Mid Boost/Cut died on me and it took me a month and a half to finally get them to ship me the replacement.

The part is called a threaded insert. Here is a link to one source. They would also have the screws. More than likely the size of the order will need to be substantial. If that is a problem the best source would be a local machine shop supply house. Failing that, a well stocked hardware store may be able to supply your needs. Take one of the screws, if available, to the store and have them use a thread gauge to determine the proper size. If you do not have a screw, take the guitar with you.

As far as Ibanez customer service goes, they tend to service their dealers fairly well and your local B&M should be your go to supplier. But small threaded inserts are only rarely a problem and it is doubtful that they are a stocking item.

Wow, so they've improved? I'm still waiting on the wiring diagram they were supposed to send for my Destroyer in 1988.

Thank you, that's exactly what I need!
