Time + effort to clean the screws vs. the cost of new screws. I would just buy new screws...

On a related thought...

I stopped or greatly reduced my own rusting problems by not storing my strap in the case with my bass. It seems obvious now, but for the longest time I didn't realize I was just locking a sweat soaked wick in the case after each show.

Replace the screws w/ stainless ones from Ace. Then sell the rusted ones for more $$$ to a relicer.

Stewmac, pickguard screws. They don't sell that kind of screw at retail stores (I had a thread on this a while back.)
