A screwy pickup cover question...

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I need help locating a screw or finding an alternative solution....

I put a bridge cover and pickup cover on my black MIM J bass - Fender (Squire Series) - which along with the black pickup cover and black knobs, it looks pretty sharp.

No problem with the bridge cover.

The pickguard was drilled for pickup cover and one side is fine but the other side (below G string) is routed down and the screw won't reach wood.

I went to local hardware store to find longer screw but no joy - nothin that small - looks like maybe a #4 phillips pan head screww - I need one that matches and is longer than screws that came with the pickguard.

Does someone know how I might best find a replacement screw that matches but is longer OR should I just glue a little block of wood in that side to support the pick guard and accept the screw I have?

Thanks,

Jesse

Block of wood. The body is probably pretty thin at that point and it'd be easy to go all the way through.
