well
i have to admit this bass has been good to me
i learnt on it, its had its fair share of problems

but its good

it has a cracked headstock from a gig
abd three pretty bad humbuckers
but i have no clue how to change em
youll see why when you look at the pics
what can do to this bass
to improve its sound
or even just improve it

Those look like Vox/Eastwood pickups. Take the bass to a local luthier and they'll get it repaired the way you want. replace the electronics to get a "better" sound if you need to...fairly cheap...that looks like it would be a fun project bass.

The basslines are too small. You have Mosrite styled pickups, look on eBay for Eastwood pickups, they are the same size. They are longer, wider and weirder sounding. Dunno about Perth...look online, there has to be someone who fiddles with wood.

i know theyre for fivers

I wouldn't put 5-string pickups on a 4-string. The polepieces (yes, EMG's have polepieces, you just can't see them) wouldn't line up.

The 4 string and 5 string EMG Extended series are the same dimensions on the outside. Both are 3-1/2 inches. All of the extended 4 string pickups are the same dimension... You can use any of them..

you could have a varitone switch installed. it would help you squeeze a couple other sounds out of it.
