Question Set neck to Bolt on?

On one of my basses which has just about lived it's life has a really nice neck. And i want to make a bass with it. but it's one that's glued on. how can i remove it from the body w/o significant damage?

Remove as much of the body as you can with a bandsaw so that you can jig it up and rout off the remainder of the body wings. Then figure out how thick the heel should be and rout that flat. Then do the final shaping to fit your neck pocket. No guarantees but it would be fun to try.
