setting it up for slap

my p bass doesn't slap that well. how can i set it up, so that slap playing is easyer? it is a VM series squier. also, music shop wants $50 for a proper bass setup, so anything else on set-up in general is also greatly appriciated

Check the setup page on Fender's website and try to get your action pretty low.

Also, use proper slap technique.

i don't think it is the teqnuiqe. on some other basses, i slap well well for a begginer. thanx for the tip. also, didn't mention it before, but the strings are ernie ball super slinky

i set it up, and tried to get my action low. e and g are much better. i set them all to the same height, but the A & D strings hit the last fret whever fretted and i can't get is not to

Did you set the strings to the same height at the twelfth fret? Or did you just set them level with one another? If the strings are level with one another raise the A and the D strings.

i just matched the saddle distances to eachother. thanx for the tip. will try it when i get home
