I was wondering what kind of setup and/or neck is recommended for a bass that will have 4 hipshot d-tuners and a tremello system. I just worry about damaging my bass. |

Use heavier gauge strings to help keep things tight, too. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: north of chicago | | | d-tuners and a tremolo is a bad idea, when you activate any of the d-tuners, it will go horribly out of tune on the other stings, the more of them that are engaged, the worse it will get. Please, don't do it

Please, don't do it | Only if it's a floating tremolo. If the bridge is setup for dive-only, you can detune a string without the rest of them going out of tune. |

If you are going by the description on that page, they mean that after you use the trem, it will return to tune and not be flat (a problem on some trems) I would suggest calling hipshot and asking if it will work, but they will probably say no

The tremolo that spudmaster34 posted *could* work as long as you set it up for dive-only. You do this either by installing the bridge so the baseplate is flush against the face of the bass, or by putting wooden or metal block between the tremolo cavity and the inertia block of the tremolo. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
