Can anyone recommend someone who can do a decent setup on an old Fender Precision in the Manhattan / Brooklyn area? (I'm on vacation and have no tools with me, and I just 'accidentally' bought an old Precision, which sounds amazing but needs a bit of a setup.)

Beautiful bass. And I wonder if the Sadowsky shop does setups? Might be worth checking out. Just make sure you don't accidentally end up with another bass.

thanks for the suggestions, will give the guys in Greenpoint a call first thing tomorrow. I have a Sadowsky back home so I already know the dangers lurking at Sadowsky HQ Unfortunately I just cleared out my funds by buying the bass above so there's no chance of me buying another bass there. I may have to pop down there to pick up some strings though. I seem to recall that they no longer do repairs and setups there but I'll give them a call too.
