Hi.
If I encounter a hard to turn SA TR nut (or any thread for that matter), I always determine as to why it is hard to turn.
There's no chance in hell that it will magically fix itself over time, more likely it'll seize solid.
That said, I've been wrenching wheels of all sorts for the better part of my life, and I immediately feel whether the particular thread is defective or not.
So my suggestion is to loosen the strings, and to take the bullet TR nut off in order to be able to inspect both of the threads as well as the shape the neck wood is.
I usually turn an appropriately sized washer for it while I'm at it as well, but that's just the machinist in me I guess.
Some bullet nuts aren't drilled quite far enough and/or the tap was an incorrect one, so the end of the travel is tighter than a ..... well You know

.
Chasing the threads with an
end tap isn't too bad of a choice either.

Sam
