Question silica gel in acoustic?

my new electric acoustic had two packets of silica gel in it.. is there anything i should be doing instead of having these there to properly take care of my bass??

Throw the packets away and just play the thing.

They serve no purspose now that you've opened the package, and if anything they're bound to rip open pretty soon... Leaving you with hundeds of little silica beads spewn everywhere to clean up.

As for care just put it in the case when you're done playing. And if you really feel gun-ho about caring for it, wipe down the strings w/ a clean rag when you're done.
