| Single String Bridge Installation help: to fan or not?

I am installing ABM single string bridges on a Steinberger XQ25 bass. I read that some people advocate moving the saddles back a little for the B and E strings.
Is this a good idea?
The bridges have about 5/8" total saddle adjustment space. My plan was to place the center of the adjustment margin at 34" for each string.
Would it be better to fan the bridges out?
How far back would you place the B string bridge?
Would it be a good idea to draw a line on the base plate connecting the G string saddle point to the B string saddle point and fan the bridges across that line?
Thanks. |
