SKB Bass Safe help needed!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all... I just bought a SKB Bass safe, and my bass cannot fit in there, my bass' overall length plus the gig bag (you must put the bass in a gig bag) is less that 45 inch, and the seller says that it's length tis 48.5 inch. this is coused by a foam padding at the bottom of the case.

I saw there's a few owner of the similar case on TB, and I need your advice because if I remove the padding than maybe I can't return the case, or should the padding be remove?

Sorry if I post this on the wrong sub-forum.

Thanks

Anton

I'd talk to the(bass safe)dealer, or whoever you got it from.

I had the same problem, using a BodyGlove semi-rigid bag inside the Bass Safe. I removed the foam blocks and never had any problems. You could put them back if you wanted to- they are attached with double sided tape.
The bigger issue is you'd better stick around when the TSA examines it. They often have a hard time re-securing the latches properly. The latches are a little tricky.

I have email the dealer, I hope to get some answers tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try to remove the foam very carefully. And yeah, I'll be flying overseas with the case, that's why I bought it, so I'll be careful.

Thanks
