My brother let the wrong person have a go on his main geetawr a couple of days ago (probably the last time he'll ever let someone else touch it).
The guy apparently had a thumb ring (dumbass!
) and now he's got some deep scratching/denting and a chip in his laquer-finished mahogany neck.
Good thing he didn't notice it that night or there would have been some form of violence, but bad since he can't get the guy to pay for it (for now at least).
Now I'm thinking if I figure out what kind of laquer is on there (Godin LGX-III) those scratches and chip could be filled up with it and then smoothed out again. The damage would probably still be visible but at least it'll be smooth to the touch again and the skin-funk won't get in the chip.
He's got that 'funky hands syndrome' so he really needs that laquer finish to protect the wood so he's especially bummed out about the chip.
Am I right on this one?
