Soldering Chrome

The tuning pegs on my Peavey Fury (1994?) produce a rattling whenever I play an open "E".

I've noticed that the rattling is due to the handle part of the tuning peg being loose where it attaches to the part containing the worm gear. I'm pretty sure that this would be stock chrome hardware and was wondering how I could solidify this joint short of using a glue gun. (Apparently solder doesn't like to adhere to chrome)

thanks in advance

No, chrome wont solder at all.

A quick and dirty fix is to just wick some super glue down into the loose joint. A bit of masking tape should keep most of the superglue off the chrome. The rest should scrape off the chrome pretty easily. The success of the fix sort of depends on just how loose the handle is.

Just make sure it's in tune first!
