Some sort of hardware trouble
Ok, I own an Ibanez SR505 Active bass. I've noticed that sometimes my tone just change, it sounds like i've lowered mid and treble on eq. Theres suddenly no punch, no fret noise when i play agressive, and tone gets a little blurry, opposite from my bright punchy tone. I thought that it might be the battery problem so I have disconnected and reconnected it, which helped, and was helping for a few months, but now tone is constantly screwed. What are the possibilities? Something wrong with battery connectors, maybe earthing?

Are you using the same amp? If so it maybe something there. If you've noticed this with different rigs then it's probably the bass. I've changed out the electronics in all of my Ibanez basses so I don't have much to say about their electronics. Good luck.

I've noticed the same on different amps, sometimes it's so good, sometimes it's missing a lot in tone.

The it's the bass, not the amps. Although batteries do last a long time, they vary - have you tried changing them more often than usual?
In this situation, checking battery contacts is good, but you don't indicate that you have changed the battery. That would be among the very first things to do.

I've been switching between 3 different, but used batteries. I'll get the new one tomorrow but I doubt that it's the battery itself. Battery connectors are packed into some sort of fake leather which looks nice, so I was not into unpacking that. The problem might be behind it tho. Anyway, I'll check with a new battery. And kill myself for opening a thread for empty battery.

Ok, I have replaced the battery with the new one so now again, occasionally, the tone is in bad shape.

I would re-check the solder connections and also use some contact cleaner on the output jack contacts before anything else, since you've replaced the battery with a new one...
