I don't understand what is "Quadra" about this mounting system on old Ibanez Roadster basses and guitars.

Someone please explain how this is a 4 bolt system. Because, unless my eyes deceive me, there are TWO screws...

Here's a picture:

That would be two screws holding on a cover that is covering four screws that are held on to the bass without a traditional bolt plate.

I see. So, would a traditional 4-bolt neck work? I have an '81 Ibanez Roadster bass with a traditional 4 bolt neck. See below. Thinking about picking up a Roadster with a Quadra-Lock mounting system and swapping necks between the two. I wonder if that would be possible without modification?

Hi also you see on the cutaway the 4 screws are NOT wood screws but bolts with threaded inserts in the neck

Swapping the necks in either direction won't be possible with extensive modifications.

Like said earlier, the "quadra lock" system uses machine bolts with inserted sleeves on the body and what looks like threaded strips on the neck.

Both operations are doable.
But are they feasible? I don't think so.

Ibanez isn't a company that I associate with standardized neck lenght either, so the bridge may, or may not be in the correct position.

Regards
Sam
