Deep cleans new and old finishes. It even does your hardware! Do NOT use polish on your fingerboard unless it's a hi gloss maple. Raw wood fingerboards ( rosewood / ebony ) should be treated with a moisturizing oil such as lemon oil. Do NOT put anything on your strings except clean fingers. The best thing to clean strings with are alcohol wipes ( available at your local drug store ).

It's only for the body, but it really does take out light-medium scratches with some elbow grease. Also polishes very nicely! I'm very happy with it!

My formula: Simichrome or Brasso polish for serious grime and corrosion on hardware and frets (be sure to tape off the fingerboard wood). Planet Waves Fret Polishing System for frets. Fender Mist and Wipe for bodies, hardware, back of neck, etc. Removes dirt and polishes, but doesn't leave a residue. Fender Fretboard Conditioner for fretboards. Great for cleaning and lubricating untreated fretboards like rosewood, but I still use it on maple fretboards because it cleans really well. Finally, Meguiar's #7 for boo-boos on neck and body finishes. Does wonders with spider-webbing and shallow dents and scratches.
Protect your investment! You might want to sell it some day. |

Watch out for string cleaning wipes that leave little bits of cloth all over your strings and fingerboad. It's time-consuming and a PITA getting that debris off your guitar. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
