I was playing a show Friday, and one of the sound guy's assistants came up to me (with his bass) to ask me if I had any advice on adjusting his action. The bass was an Ibanez Soundgear, and the odd thing was the saddles themselves were non-adjustable. It looked as if, below the saddles was a plate that COULD be adjustable, but there were no screws in the three holes (I believe there were two holes on the E side, and one on the G side, ala tripod). Is this in fact how to set string height on this bass? It was dark, I was supposed to be soundchecking, and he didn't know the model number, or I would be more specific.
Also suggested he visit the forums, so if you are reading this, welcome
I looked through several generic adjustment documents on the Ibanez site, and didn't see anything that looked like this, so I suppose it COULD be non-original, but it didn't look it if so. The next question I suppose would be, if this IS what I was seeing, do they have a standard thread gauge?
