Hi, I just pick up a used bass that needs some work done. Looking for a good set up man around the Corpus Christi TX area for nut replacement and set up. Thanks for your help.

I know this isn't very close to you but seeing as how youve bumped twice and still got no replys... Dan Mcarthy of Dallas guitar repair is an excellent set up repair guy....you can look him up online.

Hi B-flat..

Welcome to TB.. I'm here in CC, so I wanted to say hi.
No, I don't know of any setup people here in town, as I do all my own work on my basses.

What kind of bass? Sometimes you can find precut nuts for popular ones. Glueing one in isn't all that complicated. If you are needing a custom nut cut for it, I'm not sure. I've never done one, but would probably do my own if I needed one.
Have you perhaps checked with Sound Vibes, Guitar Center or Clawsons to see if they know of anyone capable?

Good luck..

Mag...

There is a GREAT repairman named Ross Jennings in San Marcos that does outstanding work. He owns and operates Jennings musical instruments. He's a top notch luthier/repairman. He used to build guitars with Jamie Kinscherff. I've been REALLY pleased with the work he has done for me. PM and I can get you his number.....I don't have my phone with me at the moment! Best of luck!

Thanks for the info,

Here are some photos, I am also trying to find a pre-cut nut for a G&L L-2500 the rest of the set up is OK, just needs a new nut. Thanks again.
