Spector Euro Truss Rod Design

Can any with some experience explain to me how the truss rods were constructed, installed and function in a Euro 5 CRFM? I see the rod that threads into the silver outer 5mm part but there's a brass looking insert just behind the nut area. Does the rod thread through that piece or is it simply a bushing that the rod passes through? Is that piece just press-fit into the neck or secured in in some other way. Has anyone ever replaced or changed a truss rod in this model? Thanks.
