Spector Refret

I have a NS2000/5 neck thru bass that need refretting.

I was curious as to how much a refret job would cost. Anyone know what options I have as far as picking a new fretwire material? I am located in San Diego so local would be ideal. Thanks!

Hi ninefingerbass,

The cost of a refret job would probably be between $150 and $300 depending on the luthier doing the work.

A majority of refrets require a fretwire with a larger tang than the standard. While this "refret" wire is has many tang sizes available, I believe that only a handful (if even more than one) of different crown sizes are available.

But again, the luthier you go to will let you know what sizes are available to him/her.
