Does anyone here who owns this bass found a way to set this thing up where there isn't soo much F'ing buzz. I had it set up at guitar center by their tech and theres just so much buzz everywhere. Idk if its the new strings giving off that buzzy twangy sound anyways, or the neck for some reason. I've seen videos of people playing it and i can still hear the buzziness. Is this just how this bass sounds? And if thats the case, anyone wanna buy it, haha

I would take the allen wrenches that are supposed to come with your bass and raise the string height from the bridge in very small increments until you get desired results.

If you get the buzz out but find the action too high then I would add a bit of relief to the neck by adjusting the truss rod, then go back to the bridge and readjust string height and intonation.

If you don't have feeler gauges (which I don't) and do it like I and some others here do, based on feel, you can still get the bass to have good action but it will take longer than if you had the gauges.

Hi steele.

Including the word 'HELP!' in your thread title will improve your chances of getting some.

--------

Learning how to set up a bass is an inescapable part of being a bassist:

How to set up a bass.

Please read up on this subject thoroughly BEFORE you do anything to your Jazz which might make it worse.

Thank you.

I have two of these basses, love the tone.

What buzz are you referring to. Fret buzz or 60 cycle hum or the tone of the bass.

Try turning the bridge p/u and tone knob down 1/2 way.

Maybe some different strings. Both mine have DR Black Beauties, these have less zing. Try some flats.
