Question Status Energy Action Allen/Hex Key Size

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

Does anyone know what size allen (hex) key is needed to adjust the action on a Status Energy (4 string with a graphite neck, if that is relevant)?

I have (what I thought was) a full set of imperial and metric keys and it seems that 1/16" is too small, while 5/64" is too big. On the metric side, 1.5mm is too small and 2mm is too big.

I guess either there is an unusual sized key needed which I don't have, or the threads are stripped. However as it seems pretty much the same fit (or lack of fit) on all of the screws then the latter seems unlikely.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks.

This happened to me in the past with what seemed to be odd sized hex head screws.
My solution was to take the slightly larger allen key,and grind/sand down the contact surfaces to fit.

Thanks for the suggestions:

kalle74: Unfortunately 3/32" is too big (equivalent to 6/64")
fab: That's a great idea if all else fails.

It may be that the keys I have are off tolerance, but it makes it harder given that I'm not even sure whether it is metric or imperial. The 1.5mm and 1/16" are very close; they fit into the hole, but just slip around. The 2mm and 5/64" seem significantly too big.

Anyone else got any ideas?
