Steinberger String Jaw

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone.
I really need some help. My true love being my Steinberger XP-2, I was tuning my bass last night and the A string came flying off from the bridge.

I've tried tightening the string but the tuner just spins in circles. I'm really stressed out over this and need some help.

Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this?
Please and thank you.

Sincerely,
Constantine

Did you strip the threaded hole or the actual jaw? Replacement jaws are available - I haven't owned a Steinberger for a few years, but eBay usually had them.

Hi Ken. Thanks for the link. I just purchased one.
Thanks again very much. I cannot tell you how upset I have been without being able to play my Steingerber.
Cheers.

Ken, I want to thank you for the link to E-Bay for my purchase of my replacement jaw. I'm back in business playing my true love.
All the best and thanks again.

You're very welcome! I'm a former Steinberger player, and I know what it's like to have it break.
