Steinburger/Hohner D-Tuner repair

Hello chaps
I just picked up a Hohner B-Bass of the evilbay for small amount, for no real reason except I fancied a go on a fretless. Setup amazingly, only a few paint scratches.
The only downside to this purchase is that the D-Tuner doesn't work ...
Has anyone previously repaired these? Is ther anything that needs to be watched out for? Is it easy?
I can't find any online to buy at the moment either....
I have one attached to my headless b2a (I kinda like hohners :P)
but the thought of taking it apart makesm e weary to try.....
