Question Stingray 5 pickguard change...

I've noticed that a lot of aftermarket pickguards for SR5s have a slanted slot for the pickup selector switch. However, on the newer SR5s, the pup switch is "straight" (parallel to the strings).

So, I'm wondering, is there anything preventing the two types of pickguards from being interchangeable? Is the body route under the pickguard big enough to switch between "slanted" or "straight"? Are there any electronic connections that would prevent a change from "straight" to "slanted"?

Obviously, I haven't looked under an SR5 pickguard (yet).

I really don't care if the switch is "straight" or "slanted".

I'm just wondering if I can safely order a pickguard before I get the screwdriver out...

I changed the pickguard years ago on my SRV Piezo and found no problems with the switch and the slot, and if so just file the slot till the switch can fully travel to a rest postion.
