Strange pickguard problem.

I got a new Pearl PG for my Sadowsky from Kevin at Sadowsky and I did a little shaping to get the fit right but now I'm trying to peel off the plastic protection film and it's being really stubborn. Any ideas on how to get the protective film off the PG without scratching it?
I tried a search but all the searches return issues of holes not falling the correct place which is not a problem for me!

There are a lot of ways to get it off. I like to steam it off; no scratches, and it gets clean

steam sound the best. Just take it off the bass and steam it over a kettle, easy.

Thanks for the suggestions. What finally did the trick was using a hair drier on the low setting. This softened the film just enough so I could pull it up without it breaking every millimeter.
